The Philips Hue Thunderstorm feature offers an immersive light and sound experience that simulates various intensities of thunderstorms. Utilizing the Philips Hue lights, users can create a dynamic environment that pulses and flashes in sync with the sounds of rainfall and thunder.

THUNDERSTORMS

• Strong Thunderstorm — Experience heavy rain accompanied by frequent lightning and thunder. The lights pulse rapidly in rhythm with the sound of rain, while booming thunder is matched with bright flashes.
• Normal Thunderstorm — This setting provides a steady rain overlay, featuring a full spectrum of lightning and thunder. The lights respond to rain sounds, and the intensity of thunder increases as the lightning gets closer.
• Weak Thunderstorm — Representing light rain with distant thunder, this option features slow pulsing lights that correspond to gentle rainfall and soft thunder sounds.
• Passing Thunderstorms — As storms change in intensity, the lights adjust their pulsing and flashing rates to reflect the current storm conditions.

SETTINGS

• Sky — Adjust the base color and brightness of your lights.
• Rain
  • Toggle rain sound effects
  • Select different audio profiles: Default, Heavy, Steady, Light, On Tin Roof
  • Modify rain volume and pulse rate: Default, Slow, Medium, Fast
  • Specify target lights for rain effects and change transition effects: Pulse, Fade Quickly, Fade Slowly
  • Edit color and brightness for rain effects
• Lightning/Thunder
  • Toggle thunder sound effects and adjust volume
  • Set delay for lightning and thunder sounds to achieve synchronization with visuals
  • Control lightning light effects with various transition settings: Random, Flicker, Flash, Pulse, Fade Quickly, Fade Slowly
  • Adjust the occurrence settings for lightning/thunder visuals: Default, Never, Occasional, Normal, Frequent, Unreal
• Passing Thunderstorms
  • Select starting storm intensity: Weak, Normal, Strong
  • Set cycle duration for transitions between different storm intensities: 15m, 30m, 60m
• Background Sounds — Include nature sounds such as birds or frogs to enhance the atmospheric experience.
• General Options — Customize default end states for your light show and schedule automated transitions based on timer settings.

LIGHTS / GROUPS

Select specific lights or groups to customize your thunderstorm experience via the Lights/Groups tab. Users can easily manage zones set up in the Philips Hue app or create new configurations tailored for their space.
